Abstract
The authors suggest and support three characteristics that should be useful for the development of a workable ethical philosophy for marketing. They also illustrate why the adaptation of currently popular “ grand narratives” from moral philosophy is unsuitable for marketing and why marketing must work to develop its own philosophy.
