Abstract

This chapter will assess to what extent the selected development and export credit agencies themselves may be held accountable for human rights violations under the concept of corporate responsibility. This chapter will outline the current state of the international discussion on corporate responsibility and specify the particular responsibilities of development and export credit agencies. In a second step it will present the results of the empirical research on the implementation of these responsibilities in the agencies' practice in Germany, Sweden and Austria.
