Abstract
June 2007 Dear Tenure and Promotion Committee:I received your request to assess the scholarship of Assistant Professor H. I understand that your Personnel Committee has some questions about Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR). Is this scholarship rigorous? Is there an intellectual tradition within which this work is situated? What about bias? Why are so many of the articles co-authored with high school students? Isn’t this just community service?
