In mid November, 1963, I sustained a head injury which would be considered severe by presently accepted standards. I suffered retrograde amnesia for four hours, post-traumatic amnesia for 21 days, complete hemiplegia of the right side of the body and partial hemiplegia of the left, apraxia and aphasia. This paper describes my recovery.
