Abstract
The asymptotic behaviour of perturbation series due to the first infrared renormalon is calculated in QED including 1/n-corrections to the large-n behaviour. We use the operator product expansion in a purely perturbative framework. The result agrees with what one finds in QCD, relating infrared renormalons to nonperturbative power corrections.
