Abstract
Abstract. The aim of this study was to analyse living with insulin‐dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) in a quality of life perspective with specific reference to the association between perceived impact of IDDM on daily life and quality of life experience. A self‐administered quality of life questionnaire was completed by 247 people with IDDM who consecutively visited a diabetes clinic in Norway. The subjects were categorized into two groups on the basis of perceived greater impact of IDDM on daily life. Between group comparisons showed that those perceiving greater impact of IDDM on daily life reported reduced quality of life experience.
