Abstract

Abstract Richard E. Nisbett is the Theodore M. Newcomb Distinguished Professor of Social Psychology and co‐director of the Culture and Cognition program at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He received the A.B. degree in psychology from Tufts University in 1962, and the Ph.D. from Columbia University in social psychology in 1966. From 1966 to1971, he served as assistant professor of psychology at Yale University, in 1971 moving to the University of Michigan, where he has occupied a variety of research roles, including research professor in the Institute for Social Research since 2003.
