Abstract

This essay is a review of what is known and what is not known about three is sues in comparative ethics: (a) What are the ideas and concepts associated with moral thinking in normal (non-sociopathic) Western adults? (b) What are the processes resulting in a judgment that something is a vice or a virtue? and (c) Are those ideas, concepts, and processes available in different cultures and at different ages?
