Abstract

We present a new measurement of the ${B}^{+}$ meson differential cross section $d\ensuremath{\sigma}/d{p}_{T}$ at $\sqrt{s}=1960\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of $739\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected with the upgraded CDF detector (CDF II) at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. ${B}^{+}$ candidates are reconstructed through the decay ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}{K}^{+}$, with $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. The integrated cross section for producing ${B}^{+}$ mesons with ${p}_{T}\ensuremath{\ge}6\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/c$ and $|y|\ensuremath{\le}1$ is measured to be $2.78\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.24\text{ }\text{ }\ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{b}$.
