Abstract
Applying a TQM model needs to be a gradual process, and the main difficulties lie in areas relating to human resource management. The experience of Dana Equipamientos (Spain) shows that introducing total quality does not lead directly to total improvement, but does stimulate organisational change towards continuous improvement.
