Abstract

Abstract Thirty‐five female and ten male rheumatoid arthritic outpatients were administered the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). Their MMPI group profile was found to resemble a classical neurotic pattern with elevations of the MMPI scales could be accounted for by the presence of rheumatoid arthritis‐associated somatic complaints contained within the items of the scales. Further analyses with regard to hostility were also undertaken.
