Abstract
This paper examines the metaphor of love in order to see what is to be learned from it in relation to tourists. First, the metaphor of love is used to interpret the attitudes that tourists take towards the object of their journeys. Secondly, love for someone or something else is connected to an even more fundamental relationship between individuals and their surroundings.
