Abstract
Uses experimental data from the Job Search Assistance (JSA) Demonstration to test the performance of the regression methods applied to nonexperimental data in the evaluation of Worker Profiling and Reemployment Services. Compares the performance of regression methods to the performance of alternative methods based on propensity score matching. Shows that in the JSA data, the regression methods performed well while the matching methods performed poorly in estimating the impacts of being assigned to services.
