Abstract

A universal planning and decision-making process incorporating systems dynamics has been developed and applied to understanding Transportation within the U.S. This approach consists of a comprehensive eleven-step process that can be very illuminating -- often uncovering high leverage points, non-intuitive truths and unconscious assumptions within a complex such as Transportation. This process facilitates learning and communication through the creation of shared mental models that describe the system of interest.
