Abstract

Previous research has suggested that subjects who are given an accurate description of an experimental situation are sometimes not very successful in predicting the responses of subjects who actually experience the manipulations. The data of the present study indicate that individuals may be more successful in predicting their own responses to experimental situations than those of other persons Conditions under which the reactions of role-playing subjects are likely to duplicate those of laboratory subjects are discussed
