Abstract
Abstract The theme of multicultural training is being widely discussed in fields of education and psychology. Some of the discussions center around the types of multicultural training being conducted and its purported effectiveness. This study was designed to answer the following question. With increased exposure to multicultural issues, will awareness, knowledge, and skill levels for working with diverse populations improve? Some researchers have outlined training models (Ridley, Mendoza, & Kanitz, 1994; Sue, 1991) while others have focused on the evaluation of training effectiveness (D'Andrea et al., 1991). Still others have discussed groups and topics to include (Arredondo, 1994). Results of this research indicate significant changes occur among graduate students following multicultural training.
