Abstract

Chorpita et al. achieve a major goal and provide an exemplar for a collegial yet data-based approach to the dissemination of empirically supported approaches to actual practice. As we applaud the accomplishment, we also consider some of the related issues, such as questioning what else needs to be done to get the empirically supported treatments implemented in the real settings. Importantly, Chorpita et al. recognize and specify that making lists of the effective treatments is not enough. Additional forward movement may be evident as we increase our sensitivity to variations in client's developmental levels, work to overcome existing misperceptions of manual-based treatments, and further examine the role of supervision in the transportability of empirically supported treatments.
