Abstract

This paper details the Glaser and Strauss Grounded Theory approach to research, the history behind its discovery, a description of the method, and some important ways in which nurses and other investigators have used it. Short descriptions of Mead's symbolic interactionism and the computer methodology of factor analysis are included.
