Abstract
Abstract The use of books and monographs is studied in terms of “aging.” Data on the use, over a period of five years, of materials acquired in 1969 is presented. The data is presented in such a way as to indicate the points at which negligible use can be predicted, with regard to one‐time use, two‐time use, three‐time use, etc. This methodology will be used for successive years of acquisitions and the data will be compared. The attempt will be made to develop a predictive model on aging which may be useful both in purchasing and in collection weeding decisions.
