Abstract
This study explores the impact of a social desirability response bias (need for approval and trait desirability) on self-reported ethical behavior. A survey of college students reveals a strong response bias with trait desirability having the greatest influence. Alternatives to commonly used Marlowe-Crowns scale are suggested.
