Abstract
Monkeys with deafferented forelimbs were able to point accurately at visual targets, with and without view of their responding limbs. The precision of pointing was not as great as that of intact animals; however, there was overlap in the two distributions of accuracy scores. Results indicate that well-coordinated visual-motor behavior can be performed in the absence of somatosensory feedback.
