Abstract

Abstract Abstract The performances of several sorbents as collection media for the quantitative concentration and analysis of volatile, hazardous, vapor-phase compounds from ambient atmospheres were evaluated under a variety of conditions relevant to field sampling. Tenax GC was found to be superior to other sorbents in most cases. The effects of humidity, background air pollution, repeated re-use of sorbent, and transportation and storage of collected samples were investigated.
