Abstract

A model for examining the joint effect of leadtime and demand uncertainties, from the manufacturer/distributor perspective, as well as the effect of fair-shares allocation on safety stocks in a four-link just-in-time (JIT) supply chain is described. A case study is provided which can easily be incorporated into an optimization model for selecting carriers, outside suppliers and so on.
