Abstract
Abstract The purpose of K2K (KEK-PS E362) experiment [1] is to draw a definite conclusion on the neutrino oscillations with squared mass differences Δm2 below 10−1eV2. The experiment uses a well-defined muon neutrino (vμ) beam produced at the KEK-PS and two detectors, including the existing Super-Kamiokande detector. The experiment will be sensitive to the νμ → νe and νμ → ντ oscillations, Δm2 ≥ 3 × 10−3 eV2 with more than the 99% confidence level for large mixing angle. The experimental methods, status, and schedule are described.
