Abstract
This chapter elaborates on the process of structured interviewing, which is a prominent data collection strategy in both quantitative and qualitative research. It explains that a structured interview is one of the most commonly employed methods in survey research. The interview, which can be administered in person, over the phone, or video-calling applications, primarily aims to standardise responses in an effort to have differences between interviews in any research project minimized. The chapter acknowledges how business research employs social surveys as a type of structured interview. Response sets can be damaging to data derived from structured interviews, so steps must be taken to reduce their effects.
