Abstract

This article describes a technique, the stable correlate method, for measuring the effects of television broadcasts seen under completely normal conditions. Mr Belson suggests that the method may be readily applicable to various sociological studies of effects, e.g. of television, of cinema-going, of major events, and of publicity campaigns.
