Abstract
This study investigated the leader-member exchange (LMX) and member performance relationship. Based on job structure, it was posited that the method used to measure performance (objective versus subjective) would moderate the LMX/performance relationship, as would the manner LMX was assessed (by leader or member). Results support these expectations.
