Abstract
Nucleophilic ring opening of 1,1-dinitrocyclopropane was studied with diverse C, N, O and S nucleophiles. A series of 3-X-substituted-1,1-dinitropropanes was obtained. Weak nucleophilic tertiary amines were also active in this reaction and afforded zwitterionic compounds.
