Abstract

Several features in this sample of hospitalized homeless mentally ill patients deserve special attention: the relatively low proportion with major mental illness, a marked tendency to comply with treatment recommendations, and a lack of correspondence between an admitting diagnosis of depression and a discharge diagnosis of depression. It is clearly necessary to further investigate this heterogeneous and challenging patient population to more accurately assess the extent of their psychopathology.
