Abstract
An attempt was made to construct an instrument sensitive to the continuous development of the principle of intentionality in moral judgment through adolescence. 3 facets were used to define the questionnaire items: usage/verbalization, recognition/recall, and crudeness/refinement. It was hypothesized that verbalization of the principle must precede the development necessary for its spontaneous recall, and both must precede its most refined applications. On the basis of strictest criteria for testing scalability, the hypothesized structure was confirmed in each of the ages tested.
