Abstract
Abstract Two distinct types of silica tetrahedra have been identified in the silicic acid H‐magadiite, those within the layers which share the four corners with neighbouring tetrahedra and those which point out of the layers and bear one OH group. The relative proportion of both types of silica tetrahedra has been Determined from the 29 Si‐MAS‐NMR spectra which reveal also the course of dehydroxylation and the formation of organic Derivatives through the reaction of Si–OH groups with trimethylsilylating reagents.
