Abstract

The competitive edge and consequently the survival of organizations in 21st century will depend upon how will they harness their capabilities and supplier capabilities. Striving for technological breakthrough, quality and productivity are absolutely necessary. High performance companies rely heavily on process-oriented thinking, teamwork, involvement and innovations. The principle of TQM coupled with tools like QPD, QFD, SPC, TRIZ and Taguchi Methods help organizations develop robust manufacturing strategies, products and processes as part of continuous improvement plan to survive in the global market. These tools can be incorporated into the classic steps of corporate planning to make strategy work more effectively.
