Abstract
■ This study develops a model of the export adoption process, which includes the following constructs: awareness, interest, intention, and adoption. ■ The validity of the proposed model is tested by application of the LISREL method to survey data. LISREL results provide unambiguous support for the model, which represents an application of the innovation adoption framework to export decision making in small firms. Limitations and managerial implications are discussed.
