Algorithms for lattice basis reduction that are improvements of the famous L3-algorithm are introduced that solve random subset sum problems of arbitrary density with 74 and 82 many weights and by breaking DamgLrd's hash function.

Abstract

EUROCRYPT '95.Sponsored by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), in cooperation with the Centre Commun d'Etudes de T616vision et T61Qcommunications (CCETT), a workshop on the theory and applications of cryptographic techniques takes place a t the Palais du Grand Large, Saint Malo, France, May 21-25, 1995.The General Chair of EUROCRYPT '95 is Franqoise Scarabin.The Organization Committee was helped by Maryvonne Lahaie and her communication team.Moreover, the CCETT has generously provided the help of a young English lady, Miss Virginia Cooper, for the secretariat of both the Organization arid Program Committees.They all did an excellent job in preparing the conference.It is our pleasure to thank them for their essential work.IACR and EUROCRYPT.According to a very good suggestion expressed during CRYPTO '82, the Association was established at CRYPTO '83.Today, the Association has approximately 600 members and the mailing file managed by its Secretariat consists of more than 2 000 names.The main goal of the Association is the sponsoring of two annual conferences: CRYPTO, every summer at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and EUROCRYPT, every spring in a different European country.Moreover, the Association edits quarterly the Journal of Cryptology (JoC).After 2 Conferences held in 1982 in Burg Feuerstein (Germany) and in 1983 in Udine (Italy), the name EUROCRYPT was used for the very first time in 1984 in Paris (France).Since then, EUROCRYPT has taken place at a variety of venues: in 1985 in Linz (Austria), in 1986 in Linkoping (Sweden), in 1987 in Amsterdam (Netherlands), in 1988 in Davos (Switzerland), in 1989 in Houthalen (Belgium), in 1990 in Aarhus (Denmark), in 1991 in Brighton (United Kingdom), in 1992 in Balatonfured (Hungaria), in 1993 in Lofthus (Norway) and in 1994 in Perugia (Italy).EUROCRYPT '96 is planned to take place in Sarragossa (Spain).Previous Proceedings.The following 24 proceedings have been published for conferences held at UCSB (CRYPTO) and in Europe (EUROCRYPT).
