The course of Trypanosoma congolense infections in Glossina moritans morsitans was followed by electron-microscopic examination of ultrathin sections of the guts and proboscises of infected flies, which revealed heavy trypanosome infections in the midgut involving both the endo- and ectoperitrophic spaces.
