Abstract

This article addresses the insufficient response of social work practice and service delivery to racial and ethnic minorities. A research-based method is presented for identifying family cultural characteristics of the Mexican-American ethnic group and for designing intervention strategies. Some of the limitations of this method are indicated, as well as the necessity of field testing intervention hypotheses in realistic practice settings.
