Abstract

Data are presented that establish the level of respondent teachers’ perceived stress. Through use of surveys, urban elementary school teachers’ responses to the organizationally based stressors that can potentially lead to manifestations of stress were examined. Results indicate that these teachers are moderately stressed and that stressors that center on classroom life are more problematic than stressors that are organizationally focused.
