Let’s lift district nursing out of the doldrums

It is argued that in another group of public employees – police officers, teachers – disaffection on the scale implied in the report would have been discussed at length in the press, but this report has gone largely unnoticed.

Abstract

That the publication of the joint Queen’s Nursing Institute/English National Board report District Nursing: The Invisible Workforce (Low and Hesketh, 2002) has not caused much of a stir perfectly illustrates its point. In another group of public employees – police officers, teachers – disaffection on the scale implied in the report would have been discussed at length in the press. But this report has gone largely unnoticed.
