Abstract
THIS ARTICLE IS about effective communication. In particular, it is about models and how they help refine the nature of a product or service and serve as bridges among the many people and disciplines involved in the development process. Five major types are defined and the benefits and strategies for exploiting this important innovation tool are examined in an analysis rich with interesting examples.
