Abstract
Since the beginning of industrialisation, the economic system has changed enormously in terms of size, quality and dynamics. In order to avoid corresponding dramatic changes in nature it is necessary to develop a circulatory economy harmoniously embedded in nature, probably based on a global information society. In particular, traditional production research must be enlarged to all phases of the product life cycle integrating recycling and disposal with the supply chain.
