Abstract This chapter focuses on the effect of measurement error in epidemiologic studies and statistical methods to compensate for measurement error. The discussion covers the types of errors; the correction of standard deviations; the correction of epidemiologic measures of association for measurement error; the correction of correlation coefficients; the correction of regression coefficients; the correction of relative risks; and correction for measurement error in confounding variables.
