Abstract
There is ample evidence of an association between iron deficiency anaemia and impaired performance in tests of mental and motor function in childhood. A number of reviews dealing with the nature of the association have been published (Parks and Wharton, 1989; Simeon and Grantham-Macgregor, 1990; Pollitt, 1993) and this chapter considers the evidence for a causal association.KeywordsIron DeficiencyIron Deficiency AnaemiaIron StatusMotor ScoreOral IronThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
