Abstract

Arguments have been put forth suggesting that the traditional under-representation of Catholics and over-representation of Jews in academic professions may be ending and a recent study based on a national sample of college and university faculty members has concluded that these arguments are empirically supported. The data analysis from which this conclusion is drawn appears faulty, however. Re-examining the data using logit regression techniques indicates that modified conclusions are more warranted.
