Abstract
In this paper, findings on cognitive development of children are reviewed. A transmodel five task procedural framework for conducting collaborative (brief solution-oriented, and narrative) therapies is proposed. Examples of these five tasks are offered to illustrate the pragmatics of conducting family therapy with child IP's and attend to developmental issues. Concluding comments summarize and propose future directions for collaborative therapy with children and their families.
