Abstract
The Leittext method is an individualized system of industrial training developed in Germany to stimulate self-regulation in learning and working in commerce and industry. This method assists learners in executing a task or in solving a problem.A pilot study was carried out to implement the method in a training course for mechanics of Philips Lighting Roosendaal After six months an interview with the trainer suggested that the learners' thinking processes were activated.It was concluded that the Leittext method is a promising system to use in practical training situations. In how far the system really stimulates self-regulation in learning and working has to be investigated A study is planned to evaluate the system in learning to use a word processor.
