Abstract
This quantitative study of the utilization of a research recommendation in school social work suggests the need to take an organizational perspective regarding research utilization. The organizational structure factors of formalization and centralization were found to be negatively related to the utilization of research. The practiceresearch relationship extends beyond individuals; there is an important organizational connection that depends on the structure of the organizations in which social workers are employed.
