Abstract
This book is a well-written, well-organized, multi-authored review of pharmacodynamics and the cardiovascular system. Although it is not structured specifically on the basis of organ system, drug classification, or pathophysiologic states, the straightforward table of contents permits the reader easy access to broad areas of interest. Despite inevitable subjects with overlapping concerns, such as chapters on angina pectoris, antiarrhythmic drugs, and calcium antagonists (all of which discuss verapamil, for example), the information presented in each chapter is more complementary than redundant.
