Abstract

Michigan has a Palestinian community of 400, of whom 71 were interviewed. Topics covered were assimilation, social relations, USA politics, USA Mideast policy, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The article suggests that Palestinians view themselves as a nation in exile rather than as immigrants and that this affects their attitudes and behavior.
