Abstract
Organic dusts and fungal spores produce a hypersensitivity pneumonitis in which a Type 3 or immune-complex mechanism may be important. An ever increasing variety of antigens in diverse environmental sites have been implicated. The clinical and environmental history, together with the acute or chronic change on x-ray, may suggest the correct diagnosis. Multiple other diagnostic studies, including biopsy, may be necessary to arrive at a definitive diagnosis.
