Abstract
Techniques used in work habituation training, social adjustment training, and counter-symptom conditioning within a community-based token economy are described and preliminary research data are presented. Work and social performance increased under contingent token reinforcement. Follow-up data indicate that graduates of the operant environment functions as well as or better than control subjects after discharge.
